Sisley and sun filters
Sisley skincare bonus
Sisley: the anti-aging suncare expert

When exposed to the sun, the skin is subjected to two types of ultraviolet rays: UVA and UVB rays.
While it is important to effectively protect the skin from UVB rays, mainly responsible for sunburn,
we now know that it is also crucial to protect the skin against UVA rays
which cause premature skin aging and are responsible for irreversible cellular modifications.

There are two types of sun filters:

“Organic” filters
which guarantee sun protection by absorbing luminous energy.

“Mineral” filters
which protect against the sun’s rays by diffusing the light.

Because natural photo-protection is not sufficient to protect the skin against harmful UV rays, Sisley has developed a full range of suncare products adapted to each phototype and type of exposure.

The Sisley Suncare range provides an optimal combination of UVA and UVB filters, developed by ongoing research into state-of-the-art suncare protection.

It should be noted that the choice of different sun filters and their possible combination depends on the desired level of protection. For example, in the Broad Spectrum Sunscreen range, Sisley Research has combined several types of filters to guarantee optimal protection adapted to each phototype and type of exposure.

European recommendations advocate:

1. A clear display of sun protection factors, broken down into four main categories:

SPF 6 and 10 Low protection
SPF 15, 20 and 25Medium Protection
SPF 30 and 50High Protection
SPF 50+Very High Protection

2. An equal/ideal proportion of anti-UVA and anti-UVB sun protection,
representing at least one-third of the total sunscreen factor, guaranteed by the logo:

3. Directions for proper use of suncare protection.
Sisley Suncare products respect all these European recommendations.
